On April 27, 2011 the state of Alabama was devastated by numerous long-track tornadoes, many being EF4 or EF5. Limestone County was hit incredibly hard by an EF4 that tore a path of destruction through southern and eastern parts of the county. The Central Church of Christ in Athens was spared, but many of our members, friends, and families suffered loss. This blog will be the go-to place for current information about our recovery efforts. Anyone can check here to find out what all has been done, find assistance, and also find ways to volunteer.
If you would like to receive text messages with current and time-critical information, you can text centralaid to 84483. You will then receive a confirmation text telling you that you have been subscribed. This is by far the fastest and easiest way to find out about opportunities to help.
