Saturday will be our last big day for distribution. We will be open from 9am-5pm and will have translators available for non-English speaking storm victims. This does not mean that distribution will end tomorrow. Saturday afternoon we need lots of people to help put donated items in boxes for easier access and transportation. Any supplies left over Saturday evening will still be available at the church building next week for people to come by and pick up. We are just trying to simplify and consolidate our resources as we scale down our operation. Ideally items can be distributed next week by one or two people. But again, nothing is being shipped out at the end of the day Saturday. The only donations accepted after Saturday will be cleaning supplies and non-perishable foods. Anyone needing further assistance can still contact the church office throughout the next few weeks and we will do our best to help. Should someone receive one of our flyers tomorrow, it will still be valid. They can still get the help they need.
Here is what we need help with tomorrow:
- A crew will go out to assist with debris/tree removal. If you would like to be a part of the crew, meet at the church building at 8am. Roy Patton and Danny Cooke will have chainsaws but need strong backs to help carry limbs and other debris.
- We anticipate more people coming through for supplies tomorrow than we had today. This means we need a full crew to help them go through our gym and get the items they need. The distribution center will be open tomorrow from 9am-5pm.
- At the end of the day (probably between 4pm and 5pm) we will begin consolidating our resources. Any remaining supplies will be grouped into boxes and left at the church building for distribution during the upcoming week. We need A LOT of help for this. If you are available, please show up around 3pm.
- We will also be sending out a lot of furniture tomorrow. We will need some heavy lifters to stay at the building to load the furniture onto trucks for people. This is something we will need all day.
